Take a look at the ribbon on this picture: Now notice the character name in this little story; Seems too good to be a coincidence.

Can't play the video. Care to explain it? " "The Green Ribbon" is a story in the book of horror stories for children, In a Dark, Dark Room and Other Scary Stories, by Alvin Schwartz. The ribbon features prominently in the story. In the story, a girl named Jenny wore the ribbon around her neck. She never told anyone why. She then grew up and married a man named Alfred. She still didn't tell him why she wore the ribbon. When they grew old together and Jenny got sick, she told Alfred to untie the ribbon. Alfred did so and her head fell off. "

i'd believe it more if the ribbon was green in her gun sketch.

Really crossing my fingers that this turns out to be true, this would make for a much cooler cover than the last two we've seen from Death Grips. I think it has that same minimalism, but it's a lot more interesting. "your wife has a lovely neck"... I think the fact that Ride's next few lines after that involve "What would my people suck?" mean that he's talking about vampires, not a hypothetical situation in which a woman's neck falls off. I don't think that is related to the ribbon story.

I don't think that is related to the ribbon story. No wonder you thought the lyrics on NotM were bad with an interpretation like that.

Okay, Mr. Elitist, what do YOU think "Your wife has a lovely neck, but what would my people suck?" means? Not vampires ;D Admit it. Interpreting that line as vampires or some sort of mega-hickey is one of the only options that song gives us. There is no real context in that track to dismiss that interpretation, nor have I seen a better explanation for what it could mean anywhere else. If you guys want to diss that interpretation, you better come packing with a better one. This group has straight-up said "I'm the coathanger in your man's vagina" before, they are not above dumb-as-fuck lines. MC Ride is totally riding into the night with a waving crimson cape and fangs. Also, Death Grips have referenced Vampirism before.

"the only options that song gives us"
Nah, I'm sure others can find an explanation. But then again, they would be as "accurate" as anyone else. That goes very every DG line.

I wouldn't call "I'm the coat hanger in your mans vagina" a dumb as fuck line. It may be cryptic as fuck, but it does everything a cryptic line should; If you really think about it you can infer a bunch of interesting meanings from it. Its probably my favorite lyric in any DG song ever. I do agree on the vampire thing though, I don't think you can really infer anything else from the "your wife has a lovely neck/what would my people suck" line.

... Vampires? Really?? Come on guys, think higher. Stop watching Twilight. My thoughts exactly. "If I could I would I guess" If Ride could get his 'cure' (Jenny's neck) he would, but to do so would kill her. 'My people' always reminded me of The Emperor's New Clothes. John and Shelly is self-explanatory.
