Gatefold vinyl. Please. The inside of the gatefold should have the NotM cover on the left and the JD cover on the right. The outer gatefold should have one overall cover for Powers that B as a whole (a Sua Yoo character with the JD ribbon gun to their head would be fucking amazing) and a tracklist or something on the back. I would buy multiple copies.

what if the physical release was just a blank cd or a sticker-less vinyl? they let the music speak for itself. can you imagine going out to pick up the newest death grips album and it's just a record laying there all vulnerable and open

You know the way you look at The Money Store's cover and feel a thousand times more in-tune with the music inside and what they are trying to do? I think The Powers that B needs a cover that perfectly summarizes everything Death Grips is about and makes you feel the music in your gut when you look at it. A blank disc or album cover would be too similar to what others have done to really capture that essence. If I had to say, I think it'd be great to take it back to the beginning. Make the cover the picture of that bird eating the other bird from the first shot of Full Moon. I think that cover would say, "We've been preaching our own funeral this whole time." |
