general discussion about the powers that B here. Niggas on the Moon discussion + Jenny Death speculation. Will there be an overarching theme with this double album? also... is it "my propa-voila shadow-ganda" or am I trippin?

Here are my biggest questions right now...
1. Will Jenny Death have an album cover, and will The Powers that B as a whole have an album cover? It seems to me almost as if NOTM's cover is just a placeholder until we get the whole record and can gaze upon the final cover that encompasses both releases. At the very least, I hope the entire record has its own cover so I can house all of the tracks under one image.
2. Just how different is Jenny Death going to sound from NOTM? My prediction: Very different.
3. What in the world is that closer track going to sound like? If the breakup is true, that will be the last Death Grips track to EVER be released. Considering Death Grips are known to bring their A-game when it comes to closers (Hacker, Artificial Death in the West, Whatever I Want) I'm dying to find out what a closer to their entire career would entail. I really hope that track ends up being as mind-shatteringly incredible as I think it is going to be.
4. Is the fact that this is their final record going to be felt in Jenny Death? It would be incredible if they really included some sort of epic buildup to the conclusion, I hope this isn't DG as usual. It'd be great if it could feel like a conclusive, climactic end.

The only time we've really got one was with The Money Store, and that feels like a fever dream after all that we've been through since those days.

Maybe Jenny Death will have some happy elements to it.

Maybe Jenny Death will have some happy elements to it. There is already a strange optimism to a few songs in NOTM. Billy Not Really might be the most upbeat song they've ever done, and Black Quarterback is a lot of fun. I wouldn't mind seeing some more positivity in the second half, but I could also totally go for some more NLDW-style darkness.

Angry. That's it. I've been trying to think of what makes this album so drastically different from their prior ones and I don't think it's just the very jittery production or the nonexistent space between songs or the much more so cryptic lyrical content. This album is much less angry than anything they've released before. Ride is especially toned down, the greatest examples being Billy Not Really and Voila. Sure there are points where he goes full exmilitary on Up My Sleeves and Black Quarterback, but these seem in rarity compared to the $tore, NLDW, or even Gov't Plates. Anyways, that was it for me.

Im hoping the albums production gets even more glitchy and insane from NotM to Jenny Death. Also I hope the album cover for JD matches NotM but the entire record has an overall cover thats different than both discs.

Is this Bjork saying "have a sad cum, baby"? It doesn't sound like Stefan.

I hope it has a badass vinyl release and more black trash bags covering offensive cover art like NLDW. I want a bigger, more hairy penis on this cover. I hope it's a triple gatefold with all of their dicks and each one is a usb stick containing more files so you can fuck your computer with their usb dicks.

I kinda think a lot of the stuff on NOTM is about coming to terms with dying. Jenny Death might be the death?

what i hear on niggas is dg pushing everything they've done to the next level. While I definitely get the more upbeat kinda thing, what I hear in the opener is their hardest track ever. That is pure opinion, I'm sure everybody here can think of a track that goes harder than UPMYSLEEVES, but for me, that's the hardest moment they've achieved in their music. I was starting to hear more of an experimental, less minimal, sound on GP and while it doesn't sound too similar, I hear them exploring more of that crazy, go everywhere, glitchy sound on shit like Billy Not Really and especially Fuck Me Out.
There's other moments on the record where I hear them maximizing a certain style they've done before. The only sound or style on here that I don't think they explored too heavily is minimalism. Seems like it's been the most sensory overload experience yet for me with their music.
It'd be great if they explore some real minimal shit on Jenny death.
sidenote: does anyone know of any upcoming astrological events? I'm sure Jenny Death has been completed, and being that they really are into hyper relevant music, i can't imagine them sitting on it for too long. I've read somewhere that July 12th has something going down.
