Although I never saw Death Grips, I saw Deafheaven a month ago. And it was amazing. George Clarke screamed in my face and the whole front row was a mosh pit. Not Death Grips related, but...

Not Death Grips related, but... also not death grips releated, but i'm seeing them at Pitchfork this upcoming weekend and at a Pitchfork aftershow along side Perfect Pussy. It should be sick.

I saw Death Grips in 2013 at the Big Day Out. The crowd was mostly people waiting for Childish Gambino, and once DG started playing, didn't know what hit them. There were obviously a few genuine fans though, screaming along with the songs and just going ballistic in the mosh.
There were a couple of people crying afterward too.
It was later on this tour then they destroyed that iMac. The crowd here is quite a bit larger than in my city.

i can't really get into the way zach had his drums on that tour, that was the setup when i saw them play, imo they're way better with the full kit.

I don't mind it actually. I think it gives a more primitive feeling to their music, in a similar way to the relatively simple instrumentation from bands like Sepultura. It's all about a beat in this instance.

It's all about a beat in this instance. I can dig the idea, especially what zach says about it in that interview, sure, it's minimal, just thee drums and a microphone, (with a wall of electronics and background vocals, not really minimal at that point imo, but w/e) it sounds cool as a concept for me, especially for no love songs, how it was more minimal in production, even though the tones are very electronic and big in sound (which i don't really think is minimal at that point either but in comparison to other DG material I guess so) it just comes off as sounding weak to me in the end. they don't clash well for me. i couldn't bear imagining the album with those sounds, they're still cool, it was a good show, but I feel I would have gotten more from it had the drums been set up as they were before and after that tour
